The Keeping Place

Our beautifully designed heritage listed Ngaruwanajirri Building is also known as the Keeping Place and very evocatively as the “Tiwi Sistine Chapel “ due to the detailed and historic painted murals by past masters of Tiwi design and culture that remain revered on our curved ceiling.

We are very lucky to inhabit a magnificent building that houses a fluctuating group of up to twelve artists.
